As an actor, Matthew McConaughey has told his share of crazy stories. Yet, on the Tuesday (Sept. 11) episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” McConaughey might have told his craziest story as part of the “True Confessions” game.
Playing alongside Fallon and Jimmy and the Roots’ Tarik Trotter in which the three would interrogate each other to find out the truth, McConaughey told the story of a family picnic that he had with his family, when all of a sudden a ram charged at him.
“I got charged by a mountain ram at the edge of the Grand Canyon and had to throw my six-month-old child 15 feet in the air to save him,” he says. “After I had already got rid of the dog, I had to launch (son) Levi through the air for my wife to catch so we didn’t get rammed off the edge. I squared off and tried to go as Yoda as I could with this ram and just say, ‘Not me,’.”
And while Fallon and Trotter had their doubts about the story, McConaughey confirmed that in fact, the story was true! Now, not every story during the game was true, including the one that Trotter told about riding around in his car with none other than Kanye West in his trunk!
“It was his [idea],” Trotter said of West. “He just wanted me to get him out of there … There was an event there. The store happened to be about a block-and-a-half away from a residence where Common lived. He lived with the legendary producer J. Dilla.”
